My father's Grandfather was Rafael Olea of Spain who came to Mexico in the Mid 1800's. He had a son Jose Maria Olea who had my father Jose Olea(1917)in Pilares, Sonora, Mexico and Armida Olea(1920) with wife Ezequiel Tolano. Grandfather Jose Maria and daughter, 11 month old Armida passed away in 1920 from the Spanish flu that killed millions.
My father then came to Douglas, Arizona with Grandma and then to Phoenix. Ezequiel (Grandma)had a ranch with cattle but her family kept saying they were dying (unknown that they were really stealing them), so she sold the ranch and moved to Phoenix. Dad said they lived behind the cathedral and every day could see the bishop come out and bless the city.
Grandma moved to Los Angeles, where her sister kept a boarding room for field workers. There she met Gregorio Miranda and remarried. My father traveled with the crops and eventually ended in Imperial Valley where he met my mom, Angelina Juarez. They married in Mexicali, Mexico, across the border with Calexico, Ca on March 16, 1943. They had five daughters and one son. The five daughters are Armida Olea (White), Theresa Olea (Valadez), Cecilia Olea, Lydia Olea (Marcuson), Angelina Olea, and after eleven years from the last baby, had the boy, Jose Olea.
Only two of the daughters have children. Theresa (Terri) has Keevin O. Valadez, Vanessa Valadez, Andrea Valadez Osuna, who married Angel Osuna of Brawley and have Octavio 1.7months. Vanessa had Kristofer Valadez (adopted by Terri), and Kevyn Valadez. Lydia has Monica Marcuson Rakitin, married to Peter Rakitin, Veronica Marcuson, Bernadette Marcuson, and Christopher Marcuson who married Mirian Villareal from Michoacan Mexico and have Elena Isabel (1.5 years).
