Burchetts and Hochhalters in Europe, Canada and the U.S.A.

|
This history of the Burchett and Hochhalter families has been prepared by Iris Burchett Oleske for the benefit of her sons, James Christopher Hochhalter and Dennis Ray Hochhalter, and for all those who follow. Major family trees include the ancestors of Walter Burchett (Sussex, England), Inga Hogstad (Rogaland, Norway), Adolph Hochhalter (Russia and Germany), and Katherine (Kay) Raymond (Quebec, France, Scotland, Germany and Holland). The Burchett line (Saunders and Message families) has been traced as far back as 1095 in England, and the Hogstad line to 1725 in Norway. The Hochhalter line is traced back to 1650 Germany with a very interesting 19th century sojourn in the Glueckert Colonies of the Ukraine in Russia. Most interesting is the Raymond family, which traces a direct line to the earliest settlers of French Canada and the Dutch colony of New Netherland around 1630, as well as to landowners and minor royalty of England, Scotland and France as far back as 1000.
