This line comes from Reynolds Allen and Mary Swormstedt, who we believe was the son of Robert Allen and Anne Reynolds of St Charles County Maryland. Reynolds son, Reynolds Allen Jr and wife Susanna Moore are my 4th gr grandparents and their son David Allen married Mary Bruce, daughter of Arnold Bruce and Celia Allen. Reynolds Allen Sr also had a son named Young Allen born abt 1849 and died in Wake County NC and had married Phoebe Pullin. There is also a daughter named Tabitha Allen (daughter of Reynolds Sr) that married Peter Eli Bruce, brother to Arnold Bruce.
Which brings to the other line: Celia Allen was daughter of Young Allen born abt 1730 VA and married Martha Coleman.Much of this material is already mentioned in Norma Miller's book "Allens of the Southern States", but since then additional info had been found and furnished by Sarah Allen. The Bruce line, orginally was the surname Brousse and they came from France via London England, as they were Huegenotts escaping persecution for their religious beliefs.
Celia Allen, also had a brother named David Allen, so we have alot of repeat names, and some think that our two lines are closely related, and I believe they are also, as many of these surnames come from Maryland and hope to see with my Dad's DNA if we can match it to Thomas Allen born abt 1610 England and came on the Ark and the Dove in 1633 to Maryland.
My Dad's paternal lines include; Biffle,Morris, Ward, Moore, Swormsted, Reynolds, Drury, Lewis, Hunt. Dad's maternal lines: Zumbrunnen, Fluhmann, Norris and Bacon back to William Bacon of 1599 from England that came to Middlesex CT in early 1600's.
My Mom's maternal are Hansen,(Danish) Sorenson (Norway) and her Dad's paternal: Stjernholm (Danish back to 1600) and Jensen.
My husband's paternal side: Olesen (Danish) and Pakiser,(German), maternal is: Butler and Moser both from Pennsylvania areas to Kansas to Colorado.
Have found alot of records I wish to include asap and photos besides. Email is fine and I will try to answer as quickly as I can. Marilyn
