The olmeda family orginated in Barranquitas Puerto Rico in the
early to late 18oos. Many olmeda decided to settle in other parts of Puerto RIco, rather than stay in Barranquitas where the employment opportunities was high. Many Olmedas settle in the town of Humacao,Puerto Rico where today hundreds of Olmeda reside. The olmeda held their first annual family reunion on July 2 through the 8th 1999 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Dolores was the male of the olmeda family who married Ventura Ortiz and had 6 children, Herminio, Ceferino, Andre, Marcelino, Emerita and Rosalia, all but Herminio and Marcelino still live in Barranquitas.
