I know, the name Olson did not appear on the Mayflower's passenger manifest, but, my name is Olson and I am a descendant of the Mayflower. I was hooked on Genealogy since my Grand-mother's cousin sent me the lineage from Mercer to William Brewster. Grandma's maiden name was Mercer, she married Grandpa Olson and that's how I'm connected. I still have to collect the right documents if I want to apply for membership in the Mayflower Society.
A painting of William Brewster hangs in the "President's Room" of Congress representing "Religion" in America.
I am a "born-again" Christian, nothing to do with my ancestor Brewster, I just thought it important to witness on the internet.
I've been on the internet for about four years (1997) now. It became a way to fill my time after my divorce. Genealogy became my time consuming hobby. At times I would get up in the morning and be on line until bed time, lucky for me it was my day off and I didn't miss work. I'm currently working on another genealogy web site and have to finish that one before getting too indepth with this one.
I've met, thanks to the internet, many cousins that I would have never met anyother way. What a great tool for research!
Well, I guess that's enough for now, time to get on with it.
