This Oltmanns family is the only one in Ohio. Friederich August Oltmanns (1815-1890) born in Oldenburg, Prussia, immigrated to the U.S. in 1868 to Cleveland, Ohio, with his wife Friedericka (Driesel) (1822-1885) and 10 children Friederike and Maria (twins)
Carl, Wilhelm, Freiderich, Ludwig, Heinrich, Sophia, Dorothea, and
Louisa. Parents are buried in Woodland Cemetary and many of the children are buried in Lakeview Cemetary. The family home was on
what became East 41 St. between Payne and Superior Ave. Some of the girls married and moved out of state, but all the boys remained in the Cleveland area. My Great Grandfather was Heinrich (Henry) (1855-1906). He had 10 children with Elizabeth (Schnadt) of Cleveland, who resided at 7502 Donald (South of St. Clair Ave.)from 1878 thru the 1920's. My Grandfather Edward (1889-1968) was born there and my father at 1193 E.74 St. in 1914, just around the corner from the old Hodge School which has been renovated into apartments
