I have been researching for a couple of years, not that good at it but having a go. My Roche family came from Ireland on board the ship Thames in 1855. His name was John Roche and his wife was Ruth Wheeler. Her father was said to be an Accountant and his name was James Wheeler, his wife was Mary Ann McBride. John Roche was said to be born at Clonmel, Ireland and Ruth Belfast.
The came to Victoria with one son call also John Roche, then they went to New Zealand where he had a pub. I can only find where Ruth died, and that was in 1902 in Perth, Western Australia.
One of the best things I got was Ruth's will, it was very interesting.
So I havn't come up with that much. My mum sent me on the trail as she didn't know much about her father's family. Mainly that they had a rich rally, because someone used to visit them on the farm at Pemberton, and they had a big flash car.
