Hello All
My name is Donald O'Melia or can be spelled( Omelia.) I was born in Halifax at the Grace Marternity Hospitial on May 30 1937 to an Althea Boyd, (Nee Patterson) I grew up as an orphan in Halifax. My first Recollections were as a baby at the Halifax Infants Home on Tower Road. From there I was Tranferred to the Halifax Protestant Orphange on Veith Street in the North end of the City of Halifax. From There I was sent to a Foster Home at the Residence of Mr and Mrs Angus Conrod East Chezzetcook, Halifax County Nova Scotia. I would appreciate if anybody could Help me to search down my Father's Family tree. I believe his name to be Reginald O'Melia From the Eastern shore Halifax County Nova Scotia.
I have never met either of my Parents
I now Live in Niagara Falls Ontario.I would like to pass my Heritage unto my 3 Children before I leave this Karma.

Now here is my dilema, what is written above is what I have been told by my family.
(But) I have Reason to Believe That the Name Donald Reginald O'Melia Is Not my Real NAME and that my last name should be
Mooore and my Father Could be a Herbert Moore also of Halifax. and it bothers me that I cannot get the truth out my Family In Halifax, all my life I had a feeling that I have Never been told the Truth.
I lived Spryfield with a Man Named( Mark Allen who had a peg leg) and He Lived with my Grandmother Mary Patterson on 22 Sussex Street in Spryfield. I was known as Donnie Allen in those days and I have a Half Brother and his name is Junior Mark Allen and worked at city Field for many years. I also believe I have another brother somewhere in Ontario after he was born in Halifax and was adopted and taken to Ontario by my Uncle Don Patterson.(and he was killed in a car accident in Ajax Ontario many years ago.) and he may have given the last name of Bromitt formely from Spryfield also.
I would like to thank anyone in advance for any help that you may be able to give me. I am getting rather long in the tooth.
P.S. I would be willing to pay for any information that would help me find out the truth concerning my past.
