I am researching the family of Daniel O'NEILL of Cambridge Township, Russell/Prescott County, Ontario, Canada. I have found him on the 1871 and 1881 Canadian census but have not been able to find him on earlier ones. He was married twice. First to _______ MOORE. She has used 2 different given names: Catherine and Marianne. His second marriage was to Adeline St.AMAND aka Helen St.THOMAS. Both marriages took place in Canada and all children were born in Ontario. Other surnames in this line are STEWART, McFALL.
I am also researching the family of Amable FOUBERT. It seems that there were many men with this name in the early days of Canada. It's difficult to know which one is which. What I have included here is correct to the best of my knowledge. I have been able to trace back a few generations to Gabriel Foubert b. 1754 in Quebec. This family also has connections to the DUNNING family which has it's roots in colonial Salem, Massachusetts. Other surnames in this line are, BUCKLEY, CAPRON/CAMERON, SWAIN, MORIN.
Another family I am researching in the Detroit, Michigan area is the MAHL aka MALESCHEFSKY/HUEBNER/SCHMULT/HINC/CHMIELEWSKI family. The HUEBNERs and SCHMULTs immigrated from Germany or German Poland in the late 1800s and early 1900s. HINC and CHMIELEWSKI came from German Poland and Russian Poland respectively in 1903 or 1902.
If you can add anything or make any corrections to my data please contact me. I am most willing to share any information I have.
