I have researched my family tree back to 1638 when the first Dewing arrived in the US from England. I have a pretty good record of the first 8 generations, up to my great grand father Francis Henry Dewing who was born Sept. 19, 1849 in Needham, Mass.Married Martha B. Harmon of Harrison,Me. Jan. 13, 1870 in Lewiston, Me., They had three children, Charles F born Oct. 16, 1872, in Sabattus,Me., George H. born Nov. 29, 1874, in New Brunswick, N.J. and Edna May born May 2, 1878, in New Brunswick, N.J. George H. Dewing was my grand-father. At this time I have added parts of 6 more generations to my tree. I am looking for children of my uncle George Dewing who was born in either Lynnfield or Lynn, Mass. about 1905 or 06. He served aboard Merchant ships during WWII and later was a chef at Mass General Hospital and lived in Cambridge, Mass. He and his wife Millie had about nine children acording to what I have found out from other family members, at this time I have no idea where any of the children are.
