We are searching for our G-grandparents and family.
James Simon Satterfield was born on 6/25/1865 in Rock Hall, MD and died 7/10/1950; Mary Catherine "Kate" Godwin Satterfield was born 8/82/1869 in Edesville, MD and died 3/21/1897. Their children were all born in Edesville, MD. They were:
Nannie Satterfield b.7/6/1888-died 6/5/1944, married Hack Moffett, lived in Rock Hill or Rock Hall, MD.
Carrie Satterfield b.8/29/1889-married Joe Vesperman, they lived over the bakery they owned in Baltimore with their 3 sons.
She died 5/16/1964.
Jack Satterfield b.6/6/1891. He married Neva, they had Katherine, Blanche and Neva. He remarried a few more times as a widower. His last wife was Mildred. He also had a son John (Jack) Sattefield who lives in MD with his wife June. They have a daughter, Claudia. He died on 11/30/1963.
James Satterfield b. 12/2/1892. drowned. died 7/1907.
Julia Satterfield (my grandmother)b. 3/21/1894, married A. Harvey Mason and moved to Lynchburg, VA where she was a nurse and he was a youth probation officer. The story told to us was that Katie Godwin's family disowned her when she married James Satterfield, whom they considered "beneath" them. Katie had one sister, Alice, who married James F. Jewell.
Kate died young, and James Satterfield remarried having two more daughters: Nadine S. Chadwell and Anaminta S. Reese.
We have had no luck in finding anything or anyone else to help fill in the blanks. Anything would be appreciated, and am hopeful that any information we have could help someone else.
