Moran Family Of County Mayo & Lake County, Illinois

Updated July 4, 2006

About Our Family Research

My goal here is to find County Mayo ancestors of Dominick Moran and his wife, Honora Jennings who are my great great grandparents.

Dominick and Honora arrived in Shields Township, Lake County, Illinois about 1839 with their 4 year old daughter, Mary C. According to census records, Dominick was born about 1807 or 1812, and Honora was born about 1814. Dominick died Sep 21, 1889 and Honora in 1852.

I've searched many records and have not been able to find Dominick's hometown or parish in County Mayo. Listed below are their childrens' names:

Mary C., b. about 1835
Bridget E., b. January 25, 1842
Edward Francis, b. March 19, 1844 (My Great Grandfather)
John, b. about 1847
Margaret Agnes, about 1849
Catherine J., about 1849 (possible twin)

Edward's children are named:

John James, b. January 29, 1874
Katherine Honora, b. February 1, 1876
Margaret T., b. October 19, 1877
Edward Francis, b. December 13, 1879
Joseph Leo, b. Abt. 1882
Mary F., b. July 1884
William Dominick, b. September 28, 1886
Agnes, b. February 10, 1889
Joseph Leo, b. March 30, 1891 (my grandfather)
Thomas Hugh, b. March 30, 1891 (twin)
Richard Arthur, b. April 16, 1892
Loretta, b. February 23, 1895

Anyone believing they may have a connection to my family may contact me at the email address on this page.
