Richard John Opich of Madison, Illinois married Joyce Elaine Woodring of Caseyville, Illinois. Together they produced two daughters: Barbara Charlene (born 4/29/54) and Karen Sue (born 6/1/59). They divorced in the 1960's and the children didn't have contact with the Opich Family until the late 1970's when Richard and second wife Blanche Opich took Barb and Karen to then Sonny & Char's restaurant in Collinsville in Illinois. Through Barbara, Richard was given two grandchildren: Todd Samuel Zick and Evan Stroh. Through Karen, Richard was given four grandchildren: David Aaron Martka, Jonathan Brice Lefton, Madelaine Brooke Lefton, and Brittany Claire or "Bea" Lefton.
