Wales, The Forgotten Family

Updated January 5, 2001

About Our Family Research

Growing up, I had a father that I barely knew, two brothers and a sister and a mother. I did not have the treasure of aunts, uncles, cousins, or what I missed most-Grandparents. When my father was a very young boy, he was sent away to live with and grow up with another family. He was not legally adopted, but grew up with his new parents name of Peterson, rather than his birth name, Wales. Dad would never talk about his birth family-even at the time of his death. Being curious about my roots, I began to investigate. The first thing that I found was seven 1st cousins. What joy that was! This investigation is a very difficult works in progress, as my very important ancestors have all but been forgotten.
