A Nest of Killer B's in Our Family Tree

Updated July 10, 2003

About Our Family Research

We're on the lookout for ORGANS!!! Must be a perfect match for transplant...into our family tree, that is...

We'd like to hear from descendants or relatives of Joseph ORGAN and Kate LAPP, formerly residents of western Wisconsin in the 1880s. We'd also like to get in touch with ZEBELL, BREITENFELD, MILLER, AUMANN, and GASPER relatives, again mostly settlers of western Wisconsin.

Our most difficult research subjects are below and have stumped us (no pun intended) for years. If you have any information which might lead to ancestors, siblings, or descendants of these elusive characters, we'd love to hear from you! The suspects are:

Joseph ORGAN, b. about 1818 Canada, d. 1883 WI, son of Battin ORGAN (?) and Mary (?), likely the brother of Charles, John and William ORGAN/ORGON.

Kate LAPP, wife of Joseph ORGAN, b. between 1848-1860 OH or WI, d. 1933 WI, dau. of William LAPP and Margaret (?). Also married to (?) HALE before Joseph and Lewis LAMB after Joseph's death.

Joseph COFFER, b. 1841 KY, d. 1922 IL, m. 1872 to Elizabeth Jane (PEASE) Owen, dau. of Nathaniel PEASE and Elizabeth BETTIS. Joseph's parents unknown.

Timothy O'BRIEN, b. 1863 NY, d. 1933 NY, son of Maurice O'BRIEN (?) and Ann DALY (?).

Mary MANION, wife of Timothy O'BRIEN, b. 1869 England, d. after 1933 NY, m. about 1885, possibly immigrated to US in 1882. Parents unknown.

James M. RYAN, b. 1864 Ireland, d. 1928 NY, son of Michael RYAN and Catherine (?). Presumably immigrated to US in 1888.

Catherine McGRATH/McGRAW, wife of James M. RYAN, b. 1865 Ireland, d. 1922 NY, m. 1890 NY, possibly immigrated to US in 1888, dau. of Patrick McGRATH/McGRAW and Margaret SHANNON.

Please contact us at e7kat@aol.com if you think you might have a match. We (Greg and Kathleen Organ) thank you!!!
