Mrs . Josh Walker Dies at Home Here
Rites Friday Afternoon for Lifelong Resident of Livingston County
Mrs Amanda Jane Walker , 78, wife of J. A. (Josh)Walker and a
lifetimeresident of Livingsto n county, passed away at 10:30
Wednesday night ather home , 427 Cherry Street.
Mrs Walker had been in falling health for seven years and had
beenbedfast for a year.
Amanda Jane Trammell was born in Sampsel Township on July 11, 1873,
thedaughter of William T . and Willa Minor Allnutt Trammell. Her
mother 'sfamily was among the pioneer families of L ivingston county
, having comehere from Louisville, Ky., at the close of the Civil
War.
She was educated in the rural schools near her home and on Sept.
13,1892 she was united i n marriage to Mr. Walker. They established
theirhome on South Elm Street in Chillicothe.
To this union two children were born, Mrs Maude Hahn of Kansas City,
MO,who besides the hus band, survives and Mrs Blanche Ethridge who
precededher mother in death in June, 1932.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mrs Mary Jane Miller of
Mission,KS, Mrs Marjorie An n Rugel of Dallas , TX, and Mrs Patricia
Jane Priceof Stevenson, Wash.: five great -grandch ildren; two
brothers , Claude D.Trammell of Breckenridge and Jesse F. Trammell of
Chillicoth e ofChillicothe and one sister, Mrs Maude Vanzant of
Chillicothe.
She was a member of the First Baptist church and the Royal Neighbors
ofAmerica.
She was a person of many accomplishments and her first consideration
wasto her home and fami ly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the
chapelof the Gordon Home f or Funerals with the Rev. J. Frank Baker
conductingthe rites. Burial will be in the family l ot in Edgewood
cemetery.
