The Orona's of Bakersfield

About Our Family Research

My earliest recollections are of Pomona, Ca. where I was born. Moved to DeGeorgio Farms, Arvin, Bakersfield, and finally I settling down in Oakland, California. Our family, of eight, was one of the many families who were deported (1926/30). We were able to return, via El Paso, Tx in the early part of 1937. As farm workers we traveled the Kern County Farmers fruit circut up to and around the Fresno area.
I am searching for our Father, Domingo Orona's roots. I know he was in the Los Angeles County Jail waiting deportation in 1937 and that he came from Mexico. Our parents seperated and later I found out that he, Domingo, died in Texas. Mothers maiden name is Salinas and was born in Quahtemoc, Chiguagua. Feel free to contact me with any information we may be able to share and further our search. Thank you.
