My Family in Generations: Ireland to America

Updated June 13, 2002

About Our Family Research

This is the first step I am taking in finding out my family tree. I do not know anything at this time beyond my grandparents names. It is important to me to find where my family came from, and their names, dates of birth and deaths. I am fortunate enough to have only one motherland in my history : Ireland. For years growing up, my parents talked about Ireland as if it was a person, just away in the next room. I feel a connection to this place that goes beyond reason. I cry at the national anthem, feel a sense of pride watching movies, or hearing songs and stories told about this place. Having not been fortunate enough to visit it myself, I want to get to know the people and the places that I have heard my parents talk of so often. I want in a way to meet and thank those of my family who risked it all at such young ages to come so far for a better life.
