The story and/or history of Aurora Arias Arismendi is somewhat a mystery. I am one of her grand-daughters, Alicia Ortiz. My mother is Matilda Arismendi Bramhall. I know pretty much who my grandmother married, the birth of her children in Chicago, Illinois, and the huge family today that continues to grow because of her. There are many cousins, aunts, and uncles that remain in close contact in Illinois.
However, my grandmother's birth mother, birth place, and ancestors remain a hidden story that I have been researching about for the last 2 years. I have uncovered some names, dates, and places of people who may have been related too or been a part of her life.
Although, I never met my grandmother, I find the few stories I have been told about her sad. I imagine her often as she might have been if she had lived to see what a large legacy she has created.
I am doing this for her and for the rest of my beautiful family. My family tree is growing as I locate parts of the missing puzzle to her life. I believe she knows what I have been doing and is often around to see my excitement when I discover new pieces if information.
So, I continue this quest to give the "Arias/Arismend" clan their history of a grandmother who was strong and poor woman who seemed to have suffered a lot in her short life.
