I am Robert Frank O'Saben, the son of Ignatius Phillip Osaben, grandson of Frank Osaben and Mary Elizabeth Kovsca , great-grandson of Jurig Osaben and Marijo Mihelcic. I have been been collecting information from family members and friends to record my family history for almost 30 years on the O'Saben family lineage and related family lines.
My grand-father, Frank Osaben and his bride Mary Elizabeth Kovsca, emigrated to Johnstown, Pennsylvania in the United States from Grohovo and Cerknika, Krain Providence, Slovenia, then part of the Austrian Empire, prior to World War I. Frank Osaben joined three of his brothers, Mika (Michael) Osaben, Jurig (George) Osaben, and Anthony Osaben in the United States.
I was born and raised in Johnstown,Pa and spent most of my adult life in northern Virginia. I am presently in Berlin, Germany working with the US Embassy.
Queries from other family members conducting research on Osaben and related family lines are welcomed. I thank and acknowledge the immeasurable help and contributions from family members and friends, both still living and now resting eternally, who have throughout the years contributed information, time, and stories to preserve our heritage.
