Have traced lineage to seventeenth century England, Leeds area. Common family names are William, Francis, Arthur, Gideon, Sarah, Sophia, Lucy and Anne. Substantial family emigration to the Americas in the eighteenth century but connections unknown. Strong connections to British Navy (six generations). Related to the Proctors, Bushells, Trousdales, Furlongs and Richmonds. Possible norman connections to the Fitzgeralds (Ireland). Family legend has it that we are related to a sidekick of William the Conquerer who was charged with subduing the celts from Chepstow.
