I am Robert's great granddaughter, Madge Gliessner (Davis) Osborne. My father was Robert William Gliessner, who was born
January 17, 1888 and died March 25, 1974. He married Maud B Hahn October 30, 1919. Maud was born in Anderson County, KY December 10, 1995 and died in Louisville September 21, 1994.
I was born February 28, 1921, and had one sibling, Robert Warren Gliessner, born July 24, 1923,and died October 10, 2007.
Warren was a well-known miniature artist and was better known as "Skip".
The Hahn line has been traced back to the Revolutionary War. Peter (possibly Johann Peter)was born in 1740 in Germany and enlisted as a private in Captain George P. Keeport's Company of the 1st German Battalion Continental Troops, in Philadelphia, PA September 19, 1776.
I have been attempting to locate the parents of my great grandmother, Catherine C. Dedman, born in Jessamine County, KY April 7, 1832. She married Haden Edwards Hahn in Anderson County, KY September 13, 1853. Some confusion exists about Catherine's surname. She was apparently sometimes known as McFarland or McFall. Her own son gave information for her death certificate where she was recorded as the daughter of a "Dr. McFarl." However, there was a Catherine A. Dedman, born in Woodford County KY (adjacent to Jessamine). Marriage Records of Woodford County document the marriage of Catherine A. Dedman to Cornelius McFall on July 26, 1831.
