The Osborne's in Canada

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

The family research to date focuses on ten principal surnames and in the case of some of the family dates back to the Plantangenet's period in England. The surnames being researched encompass descendants of Scottish, Irish, English, French and German forefathers. They derive from the surnames which include Osborne, Johnston, Bonham, Overton, Blackburn, Langley, Brown, Rousseaux Cumines and McGlashan.

While the families eventually settled in New France and Upper Canada, now known as Quebec and Ontario, some of the families made their ways there via the early British colonies in New England.

There are still many gaps in the family trees and we are hoping to expand our growing list of persons who are in similar pursuits so please feel free to contact us with whatever queries you may have.
