I have been tracing the Dunbury family back to its origins in the Netherlands. I believe the original family name was Van Den Berg, and the original holder of that name in this country was born Pieter Van Den Berg in Vlaardingen, South Holland on 10OCT1832. I have yet to find an absolute connection, but all signs point to this individual. He arrived in this country in 1852. His first son was named Carl (aka Carel) and I believe that was also the name of Pieter 's (aka Peter) father. I am also researching the branches of my family with the names Melly, Maguire, Quigley, Fitzgerald, Kivlan (Keveland), Swanson, Hjort, Kelley, Buckley, Gilmartin, Murphy, Beamish, Brown and Coughlin. I would be happy to share any of my information, and would be grateful for any assistance with my research.
