This is my family tree. In this tree you will find many of the typical immigrant stories. Samuel Rolston, one of my oldest tracable relatives came here as a grunt laborer from Ireland. He dug the Morris Canal. He lived a hard life but the next few generations did much better. Evenutally these discriminated Irish owned homes and achieved all Samuel had hoped for. Other parts of the tree include Jared Day, an engineer working the shipping inductry along the Jersey City waterway. He came from New York and his son-in-law would go on to owning lots of real estate. In another branch we have the Hollander experience. Out of the the branches these folks stayed to themselves with other Hollanders for many generations in a fully Dutch neighborhood of Paterson, New Jersey. Richard "Dirk" Otte came here and work hard as a carpenter/laborer. The family too did well after the initial generation. As for me I think I have done well. I have a great son Joshua, a good wife Penny, a home, my health. I work as an aerospace engineer on a critical system on the Solid Rocket Boosters of the United State Space Shuttle.
