THE KELLYS OF KEOWEE RIVER,[PICKENS & OCONEE COUNTY Updated January 2, 2001
About Our Family Research
MY GRANDFATHER, DOCK FORGER KELLY, LIVED ON KEOWEE RIVER. I DONT KNOW WHICH SIDE, SINCE THE RIVER DIVIDED PICKENS AND OCONEE COUNTIES. THEY WORKED THE CROPS FOR THE OWNERS OFTHE LAND ON THE RIVER. SOME OF THE OWNERS WERE: EDD NIMMONS, CHARLIE AND EDD STEELE, TOM STEWART, BOB ALEXANDER, OLIN & JOHN CRAIG, AND SAM LAY. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING, THAT MY GRANDPARENTS WERE SHARE-CROPPERS AND DID NOT OWN ANY LAND, SO THEREFORE I CANT FIND ANY RECORDS. MY GRANDFATHER MARRIED JANE HENDRICKS,I THINK HER FATHER WAS SAM HENDRICKS, BUT IM NOT SURE. I THINK THEY LIVED ON THE OCONEE SIDE OF THE RIVER MOST OF THE TIME. ANY INFORMATION I CAN GET WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS!
