This family tree was inspired by and dedicated to my Grandmother Owens. She passed away recently on November 17, 2004. I love you dearly and you will be greatly missed.

Marge Owens, 82, of Cooney Park, Ashley, entered into the arms of the Lord Wednesday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Parsons on Feb. 14, 1922, daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Cleasby Soleen. She resided most of her life in Wilkes-Barre and lived her remaining years in Ashley. She was a 1941 graduate of Coughlin High School. Mrs. Owens was employed by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital as a respiratory therapy equipment technician for many years, until her retirement in 1981. She attended several area churches in the community. In her spare time, she wrote poetry and lyrics to many songs that were published. She was a distinguished member of the International Society of Poets and received many awards and plaques. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by all. The family expresses their sincerest gratitude to her physician, Dr. Patrick Kerrigan and his dedicated staff and also to the nursing staff at Little Flower Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwal Owens, in 1969. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Leonard Stortz, Ashley; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Owens, Plains Township; grandchildren, Robert, Tammy and Erica Owens, all of Wilkes-Barre; Jeannette Owens, Plains Township; great-grandchildren, Robert and Skyler Owens, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Elizabeth) Wilt, Virginia Beach, Va.; Dorothy Fleck, Levittown; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind Shelby Lynn, a Jack Russell Terrier, her loving companion, who was always by her side. She will live in our hearts forever. The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Sandy Piccione, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Little Flower Manor and St. Therese's Residence, 200 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
