My children have asked me to research "where did we come from". Our family roots are deep with many ancestors in the Revolutionary War. There is no really strong ethnic thread except for a number of ancestors from the British Isles. A few from France, Germany and Norway.
We attend two family reunions each year. As the children have grown they have not been regular in attendance. The reunions are the Smalls in Woodward, IA and the Amdahls in Estherville, Iowa.
My mother, Marion Vaughn is the one who is most into family research and has volumes on the Smalls and the Burrells. I have found very little on the Vaughns. I am interested in tracing as much as I am able to do. It is interesting to see where the paths lead.
My husband is contacted every once in a while requesting information on the Owens, Brunges and Parker branches of our tree.
We are in our 60's. We have 4 children and 7 grandchildren
