We fell off the tree by way of James Madison Owens, Albert Lafayette Owens and Albert Elijah Owens.
James Madison Owens was born in North Carolina about 1813. Further back is not known at this time. Albert Lafayette Served in the civil war. He moved from Cleborn County, Alabama to Winston County, Alabama. There he was a Methodist Minister and Superintendant of schools. He later moved with his son Albert Elijah to Lauderdale County, Alabama and lived in the Grassy community. Albert Elijah raised his family in this same community and is also buried in the Grassy cemetary. William Albert moved to neighboring Limestone County and was involved in education most of his life. He had one son, William Albert, Jr., the author of this masterpiece.
