I have recently commenced tracing my husband's family tree. it has been very exciting and rewarding - as a consequence I am now hooked!
The family is essentially from three villages in Fife, Scotland. They are Dunfermline, Beath and Inverkeithing. Family names are Mc Ewan, Taylor, Keir, Swayne,Chalmers and Addison.
There are a long line of Robert Mc Ewans - extremely confusing.
I know that Robert (born 1885 Lassodie Beath) emigrated to Australia in 1911 and a brother emigrated to Canada around the same time. The Canadian connection apparently hail from Calgary. My father in law has a living cousin ( Hugh) in Glasgow.
As soon as I find more links I will attempt to organise a reunion - wish me luck!
