OBITUARY from a Farmington, NM newspaper; Nov. 1922:
Charles E. Ripley died Monday, November 13, 1922 at his home on Parsons' ranch on the La Plata. The deceased was born at Portage City, Wisconsin, December 28, 1857, and came to this county in 1908, and has made his home on the La Plata river ever since. He is a brother of Reuben and George Ripley, both of whom are well known here. In addition to these brothers he has two others, one in Montana and one in Oklahoma. He also has two sisters that survive him, Mrs. P. M. Parsons, of the La Plata, and Mrs. Peterson, of Deerfield, Missouri. Deceased was one of a family of thirteen, having five brothers and seven sisters. He was laid to rest in the Farmington cemetery.
