Commencing research of my maiden name Goodwin. My relatives on my Father's side originate from Sussex, Berkshire and Kent in England. Going back into distant history the name indicates ancestory with the vikings or norsemen. Our physical features seem to bear this out - blond hair, snub nose.
Having now moved to live in France and my Father having died in the early 70's I would like to know something more of my ancestors which I hope will be of interest too to my children. The snub nose has proved to be an amazingly strong gene! My husbands relatives orignate in France as do my sister in laws(brothers wife). I wonder if I might find the same with the Goodwins at some point in time - call it a sixth sense but otherwise some little things in the family do not quite add up..........
