My family is from the counties of Lancashire and Westmorland in the North West of England. My research is centred on two main interests:
1) The boatmen and women of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
2) A world wide One-Name Study of the surname Anderton.

My great grandfather worked with horses all his life. From the age of 16 he worked at the stables of Wrightington Hall, Lancashire and was in the Army Veterinary Corps in the Frist World War.
