The Family of Elix P. Camp

Updated January 24, 2004

About Our Family Research

My family research began with my grandfather, Jonathan James Camp, Jr. known to his friends and family as J.N. He was married three times and had 22 children. His first wife was Catherine Barrington of Minden, Louisiana. They had 11 children. Catherine died in 1912 and John married again to Florance Fuller. They had a daughter and then were divorced sometime before 1920. John moved to Leake County, Mississippi before 1922. There he met and married my grandmother Lucy Leona McKay. He bought a farm in Renfroe, Ms. drained the lowland for farming and built a house. J.N. and Leona raised 10 more children. Their second child was my father Elix Preston Camp. My research on his family is my tribute to him. In July 2003, I attending a Camp Family reunion in Leake County, Ms. and I learned more about my family, while I was there. This new information I am in process of adding to my family tree.
