I have researched most of my family--on both my mother and my father's families--and I have gone back at least to the early to late 1700s on each side. My goal is to see if I can trace my family back to the early 1600s and late 1500s. Currently, on my mother's side, I have gone back as far as Anahias Matthews (1730, NY) and his wife Mary. On my father's side I've gone back as far as James Fordyce and his two sons, John (1742?) and Henry (1711). My father's mother supplied me with most of my father's family history, as she says that there is a family Bible recording all the family names in it. Various members of my mother's family handed over info on mom's ancestors. I've enjoyed researching my family and I hope to find the rest of my ancestors.
