I am researching all branches of my family tree. My Peebles (Peoples)line is Scots-Irish with my ancestor David Peebles (Peoples in early census records) together with one of his sons, Robert, his father, brother and four sisters settling in Kitley Township just north of Brockville, Ontario, Canada in the early 1830's. They reportedly came from County Armagh in Ireland and sailed from Belfast. My grandmother Minnie Gertrude Peterson is descended from Nicholas Peterson, a UEL who landed at Adolphustown, Ontario with his family in 1784 after the American revolution. This line is connected to the Valleau, Howard, Rowe, Demarest, Lozier families amongst others. My great grandmother was Agnes Cockburn whose family hailed from Scotland. My grandmother Sophia Ashcroft and her brother Thomas were home children from England sent to Belleville, Ontario. She married Charles Balls who also came from England. Other lines include Wilce (English) and Kershaw (Irish). My wife's maiden name is Cousineau which connects to the Gelineau family which is well documented. Both lines are of French descent. Her mother was an O'Reilly of Irish descent. All in all there's quite a mixture in our family.
