About Our Family Research
The family of JW Thompson lived in the Cambrige area In the 1900 hundreds. Some worked in the coal mines. His wife went by the name of Nellie although her given name was Eliza Elinor. They also lived in Byesville, Ohio and Newark. Jacob's father was Salem Thompson. His father James. Salem and his wife, Charity Johnston are burried in the old cemetary by a church in Byesville, Ohio. Jacob was born in Circleville, VA, August 1879. Died Stratford CT. Dec. 1961. No known place of birth for Nellie. She died Dec in Stratford, CT. Jacob and Nellie were married Nov. 28,1906 in Byesville, Ohio. They had six children . Two are living. During World War 11 Jacob was an air raid warden. Four of their five sons served in the war. Nellie retired from Hillside Nursing facility in CT. Jacob also was a mine forman, MT. Perry, Ohio 1937.
