Aaron Frederick was born Jan. 14, 1828, in Lauenforde, Kingdom of Hannover, Germany, to Conrod and Christeana (Brakmann) Schnelle.
He immigrated to this country with his parents and three sisters in the late summer of 1834, enduring a terrifying boat trip where they were shipwrecked and had to transfer to another ship and start again.
Settling first in Wheeling West Virginia, the family then moved to Monroe County, Ohio,and then later to Marietta, Ohio. During his time in Marietta, Aaron Frederick worked in a rope factory.
On Sept. 18, 1851, Aaron Frederick married Sarah Jane Hawkins, and they settled on a small farm in Monroe County, Ohio.
On July 4, 1852, George Washington Schnelle was born near Stafford in Monroe County, Ohio.
In 1853 they moved to land near Vandalia, Illinois.
On Nov. 18, 1853, John Thomas Schnelle was born.
By 1855 they were living on land in Van Buren County, Iowa.
On Jan. 8, 1856, he purchased 160 acres of land near present day Lemons, Missouri.
On April 13, 1856, William Henry Schnelle was born.
On June 23. 1858, Aaron Wesley was born.
On Feb. 17, 1861, Benjamin Franklin was born.
On Feb. 27, 1864, Sarah Melissa Schnelle was born.
Over the years, Aaron Frederick became a wealthy man of high stature in the community.
On Nov. 8, 1903, Sarah Jane Died after a two year illness at age72.
Aaron Frederick later married Mary Wagamont in 1904, a widow whom he had met while visiting friends and relatives in Sharon, Kansas.
Aaron traveled visiting his children and grandchildren as long as he was still able and although the times changed he did not. He disliked cars and always said he would rather ride in an ox cart.
On April 19, 1917, Aaron Frederick died at age 89. He was buried alongside Sarah Jane in the Lemons cemetery.
