I have only just become interested in my Family history. Almost all the work on my direct lineage has been done and goes back to the mid 1500's so my interest lies more in finding potential relatives and tracing the connection(s) between their lineage and mine.
I am directly descended from John Yates, who was the brother of Ellen Yates (the wife of the first Sir Robert Peel, the Prime Minister's father)
At this stage I have little more to say except that I do have a wealth of information (including family trees from both sides, Wills and extracts of parish records detailing marriages - notably Sir Robert's to Ellen) contained in the family book, which was started by my great-great-great grandfather nearly 200 years ago and hope there will be many people (relatives?) on both the Yates and Peel sides who will wish to avail themselves of this valuable resource.
