Domingo Antonio Pena of Dominican Republic

About Our Family Research

At this current time, this family tree only will only go as far as my Parents' as our family is a huge {close to about 100 members} family, it would be best to get the immediate family details together before expanding to the Grandparents. The Peña family started in 1926 in a small town called Hierba Buena, San Jose De La Matas in Dominican Republic, with my Father {who just happens to be from a large family which consist of over ten siblings} when Domingo Peña met Valeria Torres and she gave birth to his first three children {now known as my three oldest Siblings, Brothers (Antonio & Jorge} & Sister {Leonida}, after which he had children with two other woman {Maria Jesus Rodriguez, who gave birth to my Sister Crucita} and {Mercedes Rodriguez who gave birth to my Brother Ray} before meeting the woman who he would spend the rest of his life {My Mother}....I doubt if he is going anywhere now after 56 years. My Mother {born in 1934} is from a town called Mayague, La Vega in the Dominican Republic. She is one of ten children also. So all told my Father had five children before meeting my Mother and she went on to give birth to ten great kids {my Mother's oldest died right after birth, Tony, Robert, Salvador, Freddy, Miriam, Reynaldo, Matilde, Ramon & myself Henry}. I am the youngest, the oldest {Antonio} would have been sixty this year, but he passed away going on five years now. I am proud to say to this day we all get along, our Parents instilled in us great values {respect for others, honor our Parents & family & responsibility for our actions}. We all have children of our own and many of them have had children as well, so needless to say the family is huge. When my son was born, he was my Parents Grandchild No. 40 & my Father’s 70th offspring and my son is already 4S years old, so I am pretty sure that it has increased quite a bit since. There are only two sets of twins in our family one set {boys} only being born within the last 15 months, the other set {girls} are going to be ten this year. Hopefully my family will co-operate and send me the information so that I can complete this task with valid information being insured that I don't get any information incorrect. We will see how that works. My Parents are great, they share everything together, they travel together, they have always been very supportive of their children, firstly their educations. But if any of us ever have any type of situation going on in our lives, our Parents are always there to give their support. We are not a rich family {monetarily}, but we are the richest when it comes to love & supporting one another. Thank God to this day, none of has ever had any problems with law and none of us have ever had any issues with drugs. For the past few years we try to get together for my Parent’s birthday especially my Fathers as his birthday is in June and they are usually in New York during that time of year. We would usually get together in a park {there is no house big enough for all of any more. For my Mother’s birthday, we usually just have a smaller get together at one of my Sibling’s home in New Rochelle. However, in the last few years the family has been separating a little {mileage wise}; we have a Sister in Massachusetts, a Brother in Virginia & another Brother in Florida, as well as Connecticut & Long Island also. So I have started a family web-site where we can at least communicate through whether it by leaving a message for one another or just adding pictures to the site to share with the family. Actually, I tried doing some of this before, but got side tracked with other things, hopefully, I can get all of the information that I am seeking and complete this family tree. Once completed, I would like to have it created in paper format, where I can give it to my Parents so that they can hang it in their home, as well as maybe some of my other Siblings.
