This homepage pertains to my Mother's, Mother's family, the Hendersons of Cass County, Texas and Pickens County, Alabama.
My Grandmother's parents were Robert Bishop Henderson and Ozema Tabitha Gunter. Robert Henderson's parents were Azar Neely Henderson and Nancy Caroline Dobson. Nancy Caroline Dobson can be traced back to Obediah Trimmier through her Mother, Mary Polly Trimmier. Nancy's Father was Sterret Dobson. Mary Polly Trimmier was the daughter of Colonel Obediah (Obadiah) Trimmier and Lucy W. Stribling.
My purpose for this genealogical search is to establish my lineage back to Obediah Trimmier in order to gain membership in the Daughter's of the American Revolution, a lifelong dream of mine.
The Henderson Family Reunion takes place every June at Wells Chapel. The cemetery there is the final resting place for many family members.
Most of the Henderson family members that have traced the family tree have not gone back any further than Mary Polly Trimmier and Sterrett Dobson (to my knowledge).
Substantiation of the marriage of Sterrett Dobson and Mary Polly Trimmier as well the birth of Mary Polly Trimmier to Obediah Trimmier and Lucy Stribling are the only missing pieces I have to locate.
I am being voted in to potential membership of the Mary Shirley McGuire Chapter of the DAR in Plano, Texas.
