I have been researching the JONES FAMILY since 17 years of age and before. Grandad Carl F JONES shared and didn't share data. This intrigued me. I have dug census, wills, probates, land records, military records, family information, and anything I can locate that implies we may be linked, related or othewise kin.
I have related to the JONES MADISON Family(NY,VT,MA,RI), these other names:
JOHNSON, DREW, FULLER, BARTLETT, YOUNG (from Me to ILL to IA), FOULK ie FOLK( from PA to ILL to IA), HOFFMAN in WYO down to myself. I have many more related names
Noyes is buried near many JONES, HEWITT, ALLEN, kin from JONES HOLLOW, Berlin/Petersburg area. NOYES was born 1808 in NY Susan born MA? VT? NY?.
Noyes is buried in Nashua, IA cemetery was buried on farm later moved. Susan and son and other members buried there also.
WHAT HAPPENED to the son NOEL JONES son who didn't come to ILL then IOWA. DID he die or did he just stay in NY.?
The census not much help as it lists different places in different years. But today I discovered this area was at one time , all NY then NH and NY and MA disputed ownership. So they may all be right. Since I am talking of parents birth of NOYES and of Susan they fall right into the time line of disputes..
Grandma's lineage is just as intriguing with FOULK, FOLK, MOYER, MEYER, MYERS from PA to ILL to IA. John Folk Dcd 1793. Greenwich , Berks Co son moved to Perry Co. PA then Somerset Co PA then west to ILL with some family going to OH, WVA, VA and NC.
The Moyer, Myers came from Berks Co to Dauphin Co to Perry Co PA then to La Salle Co ILL. Marrying Folk in this area and moving on to WASHBURN, IA area. and many places beyond. Many in WYO and OR. ,AZ and CA.
I am direct descendant of CALVIN FAY JONES AND HANNAH I YOUNG JONES m in Butler CO IA July 5, 1869. To my delight my wedding day is the same.
