I started researching my genealogy in 1978. My family is very interesting, I have Circus performers on my mother's side, and I'm trying to prove a relationship to John "Bill" Ricketts, who had the 1st circus in the USA.
My Mother, Louise L. Warroquiers' family were all born in Belgium, after 3 brothers escaped from the Cossacks in Russia. Her aunt, Louise Charlier Zucchini, was in the circus in Italy and other European countries. Her grandfather, Jean Joseph Edouard Noel Warroquiers was a master tailor,on the city council, and the 1st President of the "Free Republic of Outre-Meuse" in Liege, Belgium. My parents met and married in Liege, Belgium. My mother was a WWII Warbride coming to the US in 1946. I am the 1st person in my mothers family to be born in the USA. My mother and father divorced in 1952 and she married my step-dad, Aubrey Leon Alexander who was born in Dawson Springs, Hopkins Co., KY. I will be adding his family to this page soon. I was raised in a very loving home growing up and I don't want to forget him and his heritage on my website. Some of his Alexander family moved to Posey Co., IN from Hopkins Co., KY and married into the Wade family. The Wade's married into the Ricketts family. The more I investigate, the smaller this world becomes.
My Father's Ricketts family (William Ricketts and Barsheba Nelson) came out of MD, through Pittsylvania Co., VA,TN,KY, and some ended up in Warrick Co.,IN. From there they moved to Gibson Co., IN, then Posey Co., IN, then to AK, lived and married in MO, then back to IN, to Posey Co., IN. Other Ricketts relatives lived in most of the states in the US.
I also want to add some information about my boyfriend, Donnie Waltman. He descends from the Crabtree family. Donnie's ancestor went to Alabama and other members of his ancestors went to Hopkins Co., KY and married into the Alexander family. WOW!! Is EVERYBODY related or what??!!!
Here are the Surnames: Rickets/Rickett/Ricketts,Warroquiers,Wautriche,Nols,Charlier,
England, etc., etc. More surnames and states will be added as I search.
If you click on the family tree, it is not working properly at this time and needs to be updated. I will try to attend to that soon.
