Approximately 100 years ago, Frederich and Bertha Kronemann Pfuhl along with three other families packed their meager belongings, left Leipzig, Germany, and sailed for the United States, landing in Galveston, Texas in 1890. The other families settled in High Hill, while the Pfuhl's stayed in Beasley, Texas.
Somehow these people heard of a new town by the name of Shiner, and of all the rich and beautiful farmland, so all four families settled around Halfmoon, know to us as the Shiner Prairie.
The Pfuhl's had four sons; Richard, Arthur, and Kurt. One son, Robert died aboard ship on the journey to the new land.

Friedrich Pfuhl was on of the original stock holders of the Shiner Brewery. Does Shiner Bock Beer sound familiar to you? He is the one with the dot over his head on the left side of the picture. He has a black mustache.
