Orville E. Allen (son of Sidney E. Allen and Bertha Alice Phillips) was born May 15, 1914 in Homer ( Champaign County ) Illinois, and died July 27, 2002 in Danville ( Vermilion County ) Illinois. He married (1) Margaret Kerwach. He married (2) Sarah E. Gossett on August 1939 in Williamsport ( Warren County ) Indiana. He married (3) Christina M. Smith-Runyon.

ORVILLE E. ALLEN
DANVILLE--Funeral services for Orville E. Allen, 88, of Danville will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermillon St., Danville. The Rev. Don Williams will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery, Fairmount. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Allen died at 1:49 p.m. Saturday ( July 27, 2002 ) at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan campus, Danville.
He was born May 15, 1914, in Homer, a son of Sidney and Bertha Phillips Allen. He married Sarah Elizabeth Gossett in 1939 in Williamsport, Ind. She died in 1972. He married Christina M. Smith Runyan on June 2, 1979, in Danville. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Margaret Allen of Tucson, Ariz., and Nancy Abbott of Broadlands; three stepchildren, Sandy Runyon of Urbana, Diana Haworth of Cayuga and Bob Runyon of Danville; two sisters, Alberta Day of Danville and Mary Lenover of Danville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and four brothers.
Mr. Allen was an area farmer and had worked at Meadow Gold Dairy. He was also a member of the teamsters union.
