Agnes Rose Barta was born March 07, 1895 in Pisek ( Walsh County ) North Dakota, and died May 14, 1988 in Lewistown (Fergus County) Montana. She married Walter George Phillips on January 14, 1941 in Lewistown ( Fergus County ) Montana, son of Alva C. Phillips and Margery Ellen Mendenhall.

OBITUARY

Agnes R. Phillips, 93, a resident of Central Montana for many years, died Saturday, May 14, at the Central Montana Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born March 7, 1895 in Pisek, N.D., a daughter of Frank and Mary Barta, and received her education in Pisek schools. She came to the Danvers area with her parents when they homesteaded in 1911. In Feb. 1914, she married Matt Kojetin and they homesteaded in the Danvers area, later moving to Straw. They moved to Hanover in 1924. Mr. Kojetin died in Oct. 1930. In 1931, she moved to Lewistown, where she married John Sweet in 1938.He died in August, 1938, and she continued to make her home in Lewistown. On January 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Walter Phillips in Lewistown where they continued to make their home. He preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Phillips was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Guild. She is survived by one son, Joseph Kojetin of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Verna Twilde of Lewistown and Loretta Sebens of Helena, 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Vermish of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Georgia Pajats of Wautoma, Wis. Funeral services for Agnes R. Phillips were held Wednesday, May 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholis Church with Father Steve Tokarski officiating. Interment followed in the Danvers Cemetery. A Rosary was recited Tuesday at the Creel-Morrison-Retz Chapel. The Creel-Morrison-Retz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
