She married Samuel Morgan Phillips on May 21, 1902 in Gunnison County, Colorado, son of Newton Elsbury Phillips and Hannah Jane Foster.

OBITUARY

LONG ILLNESS IS FATAL FOR MRS. CARRIE PHILLIPS

Mrs. Carrie Phillips, who would have been 83 years of age next Monday, died at her home, 1220 Sherman avenue, Lincoln Park, about 11:15 Tuesday night.
She had been ill for a number of months, spent some time in a hospital here, returning to her home only a week ago.
Mrs. Phillips was the widow of the late Samuel T Phillips, Lincoln Park fruit rancher who died in 1938. She had lived at the Sherman avenue address for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Methodist church.
She had no children and the only survivors are the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Earl Sutters of Yuma, Colo., Miss Marvel Byfield of Hawaii, Mrs. Carrie Whitsitti of Indiana, Nelson N. Phillips of El Cajon, Calif.
The body of Mrs. Phillips is in care of the Wilson mortuary. Funeral arrangements will be announced later following the arrival of her nephew from California.
