While the rest of my family is very very important to me and loved deeply by me, the Grieco family was the family I was raised around. My Grandpa (Anthony Joseph Grieco b. 4 September 1907 in NYC around 114th st east side) and My Nana (Mildred/Carmella Cestaro/Chester - Grieco b. 9 December 1909 (in Brooklyn) were the two most important people in my life for the majority of my life. I loved identifying with my Grieco relatives and I loved how they treated me like I was "The" Princess of the family -mostly because I was always at my Grandpa's side and they were probably afraid of him (LOL) My Grandpa's favorite restaurant was Joe and Joes (formerly of Castle Hill Ave in the Bronx) and he grew up with the Farenga family and Mario Biaggi. Grandpa was an amateur boxer, sanitation man and a medallion cab driver. He was my Hero and Nana was my Savior - cooked for me, listened to me, bought me barbie dolls and gave me quaters for my purse (I wrote a poem for her which I will copy at some point later).
