My father Kenneth Cecil PIERCE ( Sr ) born at the end of the
nineteenth century, changed his surname from his birth-right
and biological father's EDWARD HAND to his step-father's that
of Fred PIERCE .
Due -probably in part at least- to the fact of the divorce and
the estrangement, his attitude was effected by the animosity of
his mother Iva REED to her first husband, his father .
Throughout his adult life, he manifested his attitude toward
his biological father by refusing to give any information to his
family about the name of HAND and any ancestors.
He felt that he would bring honor and nothing else to the name
of PIERCE .
-He was first married to Maude DAVIS and produced a son
Kenneth Cecil PIERCE ( Jr ) . Maude died of ovarian cancer later
leaving her son to be raised by his paternal grandmother Iva
REED (Hand/Pierce).
Ozilda Aurora CHOQUETTE married Kenneth ( Sr ) and together
they produced
