John Peter Allen (son of William Allen and Judith ?) was born Abt. 1743 in North Carolina, and died December 08, 1822 in Woodruff, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Lindsey on Bet. 1764 - 1785 in Dobson, North Carolina, daughter of James William Lindsey and Mary Carlton.

John Allen is buried in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodruff, South Carolina. Headstone reads, "In memory of John Allen who departed this life Dec. 8, 1822 Age 79 years." Fieldstone grave marked next to him maybe his wife Elizabeth Lindsey.
